This report summarizes the results of a reabstraction study carried out on preliminary (open-year) 2015-2016 DAD data. The study provides an assessment of overall coding quality with a primary focus on data used to measure patient safety. Specifically, the study addresses a subset of hospital harm clinical groups: In-Hospital Sepsis, Infections Due to C. difficile, MRSA or VRE, Obstetric Hemorrhage and Obstetric Trauma. The study also evaluates the quality of data for 2 other health system performance indicators (Low-Risk Caesarean Section and Time Waiting for Inpatient Bed).
