ICD-10-CA and CCI Evolution Tables  Core

The ICD-10-CA and CCI Code Evolution Chronicle and the ICD-10-CA and CCI Trending (Evolution) Table(individually and collectively, the Evolution Tables) trace the heritage of a current code in the classifications. The Evolution Tables are useful as a quick guide to understanding macro changes within the classifications (i.e., historical categorization of a condition or intervention). The Evolution Tables assist with data retrieval from one version of the classification to the next. However, for research purposes, the individual diagnosis or intervention should be plotted for each year the data is retrieved. The Evolution Tables account for all addenda at the code level. If a title has changed, thus changing the meaning of the code, the information will be included.

The Evolution Tables do not account for addenda at inclusion or exclusion notes. They do not include index changes that may move an inclusion term between codes. The current code is listed and the codes it evolved from are given as predecessors. Inactive or deleted codes are also recorded, along with the new location of their content.

Note: Use of the Evolution Tables is governed by the Terms of Use for the ICD-10-CA/CCI Evolution Tables, which can be found within the product.

Table of Changes: v2022 ICD-10-CA and CCI Codes (the Table of Changes) provides a list of changes in v2022 ICD-10-CA/CCI relative to v2018. Changes include new codes added in v2022, disabled codes no longer for use in v2022 and concept (i.e., condition, sign, symptom or circumstance) movements (i.e., the concept has moved from one code to another in ICD-10-CA).

Note: Use of the Table of Changes is governed by the Terms of Use for the Table of Changes: v2022 ICD-10-CA and CCI Codes, which can be found within the product.

FAQ

The price you pay for an item depends on the type of organization to which you belong. Until you sign in, we do not know which price applies to you.

No. Regardless of the language in which the publication itself is available, the series screen provides a general description of the publications in that series and, for each edition, gives you the option of choosing the language and the media type (for example, paper or PDF) of the publication that you want. CIHI often publishes reports in both English and French, though there is sometimes a delay between the publication of the English version and the availablility of the French version. The series information will always be available in both English and French, even if the report itself is only available in one language.

If you want the downloadable version of an available publication and the price is free, as is often the case, you can simply download the file (usually a PDF) by clicking the Download link. If your browser does not support PDFs and you do not have a PDF viewer, you can download Adobe Acrobat Reader free of charge at Adobe.com. If the publication is not available in a downloadable media type or the price is not free, you will have to add it to your cart so that you can order it. You must be signed in before adding an item to your cart, so if you have not already done so, you will be redirected to the sign in screen.

If you wish to get more information about a publication before deciding to add it to your cart, click the View link under the Details column for the version of the publication that interests you. This will give you more detailed information about that particular publication.

The History link only appears on the top menu bar once you have signed in. To sign in, enter your username and password in the top-right corner of your screen.
