The CIHI SNOMED CT CA to ICD-10-CA maps are used by providers at the point of care to capture diagnostic information in an EHR system. These maps allow for consistent and accurate generation of the diagnostic information in an EHR and support semantic interoperability between other healthcare systems. The maps, with built in map advices, include a one-directional link from SNOMED CT CA to ICD-10-CA for use in acute care. Map advices are human readable instructions for coders that support accurate code assignment.

The Pan-Canadian Health Concern Value Set (PHCVS) is a subset of SNOMED CT Canadian Edition (CA) concepts, designed to be used by the primary care provider to capture diagnostic information. This value set allows for consistent and accurate generation of the diagnostic information in an EMR, whilst ensuring seamless and efficient physician billing procedures. The value set includes a one-directional link from SNOMED CT CA to ICD-10-CA, ICD-9 and CED-DxS for use in ambulatory care and primary care.
