This product describes the 44-group RUG-III grouping methodology through flowcharts and SAS code. This grouping methodology is meant to be used with all Continuing Care Reporting System (CCRS) data.
The Resource Utilization Group III (RUG-III) 44-group Case Mix Index (CMI) values for Ontario complex continuing care facilities are available as an appendix to the RUG-III 44-group grouping methodology. The CMI values are derived annually through an update process using the latest patient day, wage rate and staff time data available. These CMI values can be used along with the RUG-III 44-group grouping methodology flowcharts and SAS code, CCRS version, to assign each continuing care assessment to 1 of 44 Resource Utilization Groups.
