The Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI) has developed ICD-10-CA as a Canadian modification of the World Health Organization’s Tenth Revision of the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems (ICD-10).
The Canadian Classification of Health Interventions (CCI) was developed by CIHI to accompany ICD-10-CA.
This version of ICD-10-CA/CCI (individually and collectively, the Product) may only be downloaded by students and faculty members meeting all 3 of the following criteria:

2. Having a Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA) membership; and
3. Requiring access to the Product for course work.

Note: The 2018 version of the Product is effective April 1, 2018.
You must have CIHI profile to order the Product; learn about setting up a CIHI profile.
Use of the Product is subject to CIHI’s ICD-10-CA/CCI Version 2018 Licence (the Licence), which can also be found in the Product, as well as the following terms of use (Terms).
The Product is compatible only with Windows 7/8/10 operating systems.
You may download the Product from this web page only once. If you need to download the Product more than once or have any questions, please email help@cihi.ca.

Terms of use for students and faculty of HIM schools or programs:

  • The Product is restricted to use in Canada only.
  • Despite Section 2(b) of the Licence, the Licence becomes effective as of the date you download the Product.
  • Despite Section 7(a) of the Licence, the Licence will terminate once you cease to be a student or faculty member of the HIM school or program with a need for the Product, unless it is terminated earlier in accordance with Section 7. You will immediately cease using the Product upon termination, and you will permanently delete or destroy the Product within 14 days of termination.

  • Students are permitted to use the Product only as an educational resource in Canada.
  • Faculty members are permitted to use the Product only as a teaching and/or reference resource in Canada and are otherwise subject to the same rights and restrictions as Students under the Licence.

FAQ

The price you pay for an item depends on the type of organization to which you belong. Until you sign in, we do not know which price applies to you.

No. Regardless of the language in which the publication itself is available, the series screen provides a general description of the publications in that series and, for each edition, gives you the option of choosing the language and the media type (for example, paper or PDF) of the publication that you want. CIHI often publishes reports in both English and French, though there is sometimes a delay between the publication of the English version and the availablility of the French version. The series information will always be available in both English and French, even if the report itself is only available in one language.

If you want the downloadable version of an available publication and the price is free, as is often the case, you can simply download the file (usually a PDF) by clicking the Download link. If your browser does not support PDFs and you do not have a PDF viewer, you can download Adobe Acrobat Reader free of charge at Adobe.com. If the publication is not available in a downloadable media type or the price is not free, you will have to add it to your cart so that you can order it. You must be signed in before adding an item to your cart, so if you have not already done so, you will be redirected to the sign in screen.

If you wish to get more information about a publication before deciding to add it to your cart, click the View link under the Details column for the version of the publication that interests you. This will give you more detailed information about that particular publication.

The History link only appears on the top menu bar once you have signed in. To sign in, enter your username and password in the top-right corner of your screen.
