CIHI's new analysis, Patient Safety in Canada, measures the risk of a wide range of adverse events in Canadian health care delivery, including medication errors, in-hospital hip fractures, and traumas sustained during the birthing process.

Focusing on results from recent surveys, as well as several patient safety indicators, this CIHI analysis delivers updated information on what is known and not known about patient safety. It builds on CIHI's report Health Care in Canada 2004, which provided some of the first answers around adverse events in our health care system.
