Improving access to care and reducing wait times is one of today’s most prominent health policy issues in Canada and many other countries.  Many believe that better information about who is waiting for what, for how long and the factors that influence wait times would be an important step forward.  CIHI is committed to addressing information gaps about wait times and access to care through a variety of initiatives, including:
