Mental Health Database (HMHDB) and Hospital Morbidity Database (HMDB) for fiscal year
2004-2005 to examine inpatient hospital service use among individuals diagnosed with a
mental illness.
The goal of the Hospital Mental Health Services in Canada series of annual reports is to
provide key indicators of hospital services for individuals diagnosed with mental illness,
including separation volumes, rates and lengths of stay. These indicators of hospital
service usage are presented by age, gender and diagnosis, and are provided at the pan-
Canadian, provincial/territorial and regional levels.
